5 Ways to Right-Click on Mac or MacBook

1) Two fingers on Trackpad
It’s also a very flawless way to right-click on your Macbook, just you have to place two fingers on a trackpad and then click using both fingers at the same time. If it’s not working then you have to make some changes in your system settings.
- Go to “System Settings“.
- Navigate to the Trackpad section.
- Set the Secondary click as “Click or Tap with Two Fingers“.
2) Use the Control Key to Right-Click
One of the easiest ways of right-clicking on a Mac is to simultaneously press the “Ctrl key” on your keyboard and then click on the mouse button or trackpad.
Note:- You can find the “Ctrl or Control key” just next to the Alt key, so don’t get confused if you previously used a Windows machine.
3) Tap Three Fingers to Click
It’s almost similar to the first way but the only difference is that here you will be using 3 fingers to make a right-click whereas in the above one, we were using only 2 fingers.
To customize this setting follow the given steps:-
- Go to “Trackpad settings“.
- Navigate to the Point & Click tab.
- Now change the Tap to click the option to “Tap with three fingers“.
4) Click in the Bottom-Right Corner
If you feel that using 3 fingers or 2 fingers is difficult and would not be accessible in a much easier way then you simply use the “Bottom right-corner click” option.

- Go to “Trackpad settings“.
- Navigate to the Point & Click tab.
- Now change the “Secondary click” option to “Click in Bottom-Right Corner“.
5) Customize the Secondary Click Option
Like we have used the bottom right corner of the trackpad in the previously mentioned way, similarly, we can also use the left-hand side bottom for right-clicking. And to activate that option just follow the given steps.
- Open the “System Preferences/Settings”.
- Navigate to “Trackpad settings”.
- Now under the “Point & Click” section, look for Secondary click and then set it to “Click in Bottom-Left Corner“.
